New Year's Detox

Yes we are officially 2 weeks into the New Year... but if you're still feeling over indulged and somewhat sluggish after all the fun festivities that ended 2014 with a bang, then this recipe is perfect for you!  

Lemon water is easy to make and a wonderful tasting way to promote a more alkaline body system.  Yes, the lemon has citric acid, but it happens to be one of the top alkaline foods along with lime, watermelon and papaya. Plus, downing a few glasses of this refresher will help keep you well hydrated for all those winter wonderland activities you'll be doing this weekend.

Wash lemons and slice thinly, removing the seeds as you go.

Place the sliced lemons is a large glass jug and add boiling water to cover. Sweeten to taste with a few spoons of organic maple syrup (optional).

Enjoy the mild lemon flavor and know you're doing your body good!
